Hello again or possibly for the first time,

Perspective, I have learned, is critical to our well-being and how we live our lives. I am privileged to care for my patients and I am honored and ever-aware of the trust they place in me. As a physician, I am a witness to my patient’s experience of our human condition. The view that I have is truly extraordinary.

I thought it might be valuable for me to share this view, the perspective, I have on various topics. There are many perspectives beyond mine, of course. That’s why, in time, this “Perspectives” section will include observations and opinions from other people in the practice as well as your very own children.

I thought I would start by giving you my thoughts about becoming a physician and starting this practice.

The path of life offers us amazing opportunities that can be realized with hard work and determination. When I was a young child, I observed my mother caring for others as a dedicated nurse. Listening to her talk about what an honor it was to help her patients planted the seed that grew into my desire to become a doctor. When I graduated from medical school, I hoped to train as a pediatrician so that I could care for children and their families. When I completed my residency, I wanted to find a community that would accept me as a physician and as a person. As I matured in my profession, I wanted to feel that I was making a difference in the lives of my patients. When I practice medicine, I want to feel that my personal gifts are utilized in the most effective way. At the end of each day, I want to believe that I honored my profession as I had been taught and in doing so, honored those who gave of themselves to teach it. Most of all, I want to care for my patients and their families with good faith, kindness, and respect. I believe I have and will continue to do all of these things to the best of my ability.

The most recent opportunity that I discovered along this path is Genesis Pediatric Medicine. In addition to hard work and determination, I need you. Your perspectives, your input, your desire for something better. I invite your family to be a part of this new opportunity. We want to raise your healthcare expectations together. I believe we will!

Wishing you well,

Dr. Mark
